OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

We discovered that number 4 was the most suitable for the fire service to use. Number 1 was the least suitable and soaked all of the water straight in!

As a challenge, Mrs Lewis asked us to order the materials starting with the most suitable.

We decided on the following –

Material 4

Material 5

Material 3

Material 2

Material 6

Material 1

Material 2 and 6 were quite similar and at first Material 5 looked like it was going to be waterproof as the water appeared to drip straight off.

Materials Investigation

The day finally came for us to ask the question, “which material is the most waterproof and water resistant?”  We then investigated and observed. We loved making a mess of the classroom!

Science – Materials

The Fire Service have asked us for some help with finding a new material to make their uniforms. We have to investigate which material is the most waterproof and water resistant.

Here are the possible materials.

We predict that material 4 will be the most water resistant and material 1 will be the least water resistant.

We will blog our results tomorrow! We can’t wait!

Poetry

The Magic Box

We read The Magic Box by Kit Wright. In our groups, we thought of different objects that we could put in our magic box. We added them to our box and then performed our poem to the rest of the class. Our challenge was to use alliteration.

Continents and Oceans

Mrs Lewis set us a challenge to find out how many continents and oceans there are in our world. We worked as a team to try and find them on our globe.

Guided Reading

The Stickman group were reading in the Rainforest today, they found some new vocabulary and sentence openers. They added them to our reading working wall.
